Wildlife biologists focus their efforts on surveys for sensitive species such as northern spotted owls (see picture at left), marbled murrelets, and Point Arena mountain beavers. In addition, they conduct surveys to learn about biodiversity on our forestlands including surveys for: birds of prey (e.g. hawks), mammals, and songbirds. The picture of the black bear below was taken at a remote camera station used to identify the presence of mammals on the landscape.
