Planting Trees

(Revised October 2005)

MRC has planted more than 3.5 million redwood and Douglas-fir seedlings since December 1998. Our tree planting occurs each year at roughly the same time, during the rainy winter months. We contract with local professional planting crews, to insure quality planting. We plant two year-old seedlings that are grown at various nurseries using our own seed crop. To insure a high survivability rate, we plant seedlings from seed zones that correspond to the site. Each professional tree planter can plant 500 to 800 trees per day depending on the site.
