MRC's Herbicide Guidelines
(Revised 2-19-2004)
- MRC only uses herbicides to address ecological imbalances on its forestlands.
- MRC applies herbicides manually on a plant-by-plant basis; applicators are fully-trained and report herbicide usage to the County Agricultural Commissioner.
- MRC actively controls invasive exotics to protect the health and vigor of native forest species; in this effort MRC works in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management, state parks, and other industrial and non-industrial landowners.
- MRC does not apply herbicides within watercourse protection zones of Class I and Class II streams and within 25' of either side of a Class III watercourse.
