Mile 5.25 of Masonite Road at Ackerman Creek - 2001

Before
After

Masonite Road was orignally constructed with no bridges (Humboldt Times, September 3, 1950). Stream crossings were created with fill, embedded with culverts to allow for the flow of water. The before photo shows three such culverts. The one on the left has collapsed from unstable fill material and is obstructing fish migration. The after photo shows the removal of this culvert to permit fish migration and the constuction of a flat-bed bridge over the creek.
