Option A
MRC has completed a planning document that can be used under the California Forest Practice Rules to demonstrate sustainable forest management. This plan, called an “Option A,” was most recently approved in 2008. HRC inherited and is operating under the former landowner’s Option A. However, because of reductions in harvest levels, elimination of traditional clear cutting, and adoption of an old growth protection policy, amongst other changes, HRC is currently working on a new Option A. Subject to verification of certain aspects of inventory information, this document is expected to be submitted by 2010.
