Seasonal Forestry Technician
Work Location: Ukiah and Fort Bragg

SUMMARY
Conducts field work to implement the Timber Harvest Plans (THP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Travels throughout the area defined in the THP and marks timber for cutting.
- Flags boundaries of the area defined in the THP.
- Records water course classifications and other relevant data as required to conform to the THP.
- Conducts surveys including botanical, archeological, raptor and spotted owl.
- Prepares field notes to use in writing the THP.
- Conducts timber cruising and performs inventory analysis.
- May administer vegetation projects including supervising planting trees.
- Administers road surveys and maintenance activities.
- May assist Foresters in writing the THP.
- May administer the logging operation.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must carry a valid California Driver's License and be eligible to operate a company vehicle under company policy guidelines.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
